How can therapy help me?
Therapy creates a dedicated time to commit to personal or relational development with the support of a trusted professional to achieve internal and external changes. Therapy provides connection in a familiar, safe space where you can take time to slow down and reflect and open up with a non-critical and curious professional where you can explore and share your inner self- thoughts, feelings, belief, past experiences and environments that have molded you. This allows us to recognize automatic and intention patterns that may hinder you from achieving your desired potential and identified changeable aspects.
As a therapist, I share knowledge, observations, new perspectives and strategies to help you strengthen awareness and insight and develop strategies to overcome struggles, improve relationships, deepen your sense of self, improve self-esteem/worth, and better manage symptoms of distress. I support you in maintaining consistency and focus as you work towards your goals to improve your well-being.
Consistency tends to lead to feeling more aligned as you learn to decode emotional responses, increase intentional behaviors, and analyze thought processes in a meaningful way - ultimately building routine systems to navigate and manage stressors, create and nurture connections, better care for yourself, and build a value-driven life.
Looking to feel less stress, more aligned and build systems that support your mind & body?
Perpetual exhaustion, difficulty relaxing or resting, reoccurring relational issues, persistent negative emotional states, frequent sickness or chronic health conditions, emotional outbursts or meltdowns, impulsive behaviors, difficulties focusing, and co-existing mental health conditions like anxiety and depression are just a few potential indications you might benefit from therapy.
High Point Counseling PLLC was created to provide deeply supportive, neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed mental health counseling for adults navigating stress and trauma individually or within their relationships. I work with emotional, personal, relational, and behavioral challenges associated with C-PTSD, PTSD, ADHD, Autism/ASD, AuDHD (ADHD +ASD), and common co-existing diagnoses including Anxiety, Depression, OCD and other neurodivergent diagnoses.
A diagnosis isn’t required to know you’d benefit from support.
Founded on the belief that authentic connection is essential to healing and growth and incorporating neuroscience-based approaches, I create a safe, open-minded space to explore and collaborate to help you strengthen awareness and insight and discover meaningful pathways forward.
Together, we’ll turn challenges into chances for growth—one conversation at a time.
Approaches & Interventions
My eclectic approach blends evidence-based practices, evidence-informed and empirically supported and neuroscience-informed treatments and alternative interventions.
I am EMDR trained, brain-spotting (BSP) informed, and use Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), parts work borrowed from Internal Family Systems (IFS) and implement alternative interventions such as mindfulness, somatic practices, psychodynamic and Walk & Talk therapy.
I use a harm reduction model to help support clients using psychedelics as a part of their wellness.
Collaboration
Comprehensive wrap-around care coordinated with fellow healthcare providers to ensure you receive integrated, holistic mental health support.
Physical Therapists, Functional Medicine Providers, Medical Care Specialists, Primary Care Providers, Coaches, Peer Specialists, psychedelic medicine facilitators, individual and relational therapists- whoever is part of your support network is encouraged to take part in your care with your permission.
I share workbook materials and interactive exercises and invite you to bring in materials you use to incorporate strategies that work for you.
